This hands-on class can be a great introduction to standup or an opportunity to workshop your existing set.

About the Instructor: David Rodriguez
David Rodriguez is the winner of Comedy Works' New Faces Competition (previous winners include Adam Cayton-Holland and Josh Blue), and the winner of the Standup Showdown at the Denver Improv. He was selected as a New Face at the illustrious Just For Laughs festival in Montreal and other fests around the country. He loves producing just as much as performing as thus the permanent home for standup in Fort Collins, The Comedy Fort, was born!
Improv 101
A comprehensive course in getting started in Improv! Led by Bart Sumner (Groundlings, Gotham City), this 6 week course covers everything you need to know to get you started in the expansive world of Improvised Comedy, taught right here at The Fort! It culminates in a student showcase on the main stage that is sure to be packed with laughs.

About the Instructor: Bart Sumner
Bart is a professional actor (SAG/AFTRA) and award-winning improv performer/teacher who has appeared on TV, in film, on stage and at some of the finest comedy clubs in the country. Bart has over 30 years of expertise in improvisational acting and teaching. He has performed and taught for Groundlings East and Gotham City Improv in New York City, The LA Connection in Los Angeles, and created Rapid Deliver in Grand Rapids, MI.
He is the author of the book HEALING IMPROV: A JOURNEY THROUGH GRIEF TO LAUGHTER and is a nationally recognized speaker and presenter at grief conferences, using improv workshops to help those struggling on a grief journey. Bart loves seeing the effect improv has on students, and seeing the "light turn on" when they experience the power of "Yes, and..." both on stage, and in their everyday lives.
